History
Hortilux was established in 1997, derived from its predecessor Poot Lichtenergie. Since the very beginning, Hortilux has been the frontrunner when it comes to innovation in professional horticultural grow light. Hortilux has set many of the industry standards:
– We were the first to make year round production of vegetables in greenhouses possible in 1999
– That same year, we also started measuring & maintenance services to keep grow light installations in top condition and therefore profitable
– In 2000, we started lighting football pitches in stadiums, to get the best grass for the best games
– 2005 saw the launch of the NXT 1000W fixture, the first of its kind and 30% more efficient compared to the existing fixtures.
– In 2008 we integrated the first LED fixture into our line of products
– HORTILED was introduced in 2016, with new and improved versions every year
– Our current NXTLED was launched in 2024
