A year ago I called Bram van Paassen from BOL specialist in substrates. I am going to grow Eucalyptus as a potted plant, can you make sure that a load of potting soil is delivered to me?
Apparently I had skipped a few steps in the process of ordering soil. Because when asked, what kind of mix do you want? I could only answer, just make it the cheapest. Well, Bram said, make the coffee, I’ll come by.
It turns out that I really don’t know anything about potting soil.
After an hour of meeting about what I expect from my potting soil, Bram knew enough. He started working it all out and a day later I was suddenly the proud owner of my own potting soil mix. 7 different ingredients perfectly composed to be the best organic soil for my Eucalyptus.
You understand, this was another moment for me when I thought, I should have paid more attention at horticultural school. I had to switch gears quite a bit to be able to follow the men from Bol Potgrond. Fortunately, I got clear text and explanations for every question I asked.
Well Bram, great job… give me another load. That’s where I made a mistake again. I thought, that mix of mine. It will take a while before it’s all made. Then it has to be mixed, poured into big bags and then a truck has to have time to deliver it to my nursery. I expected it to take a week or so. The next morning before I was at the garden myself, there were already 16 big bags in the shed. What a service!
During cultivation you sometimes come across things that you have questions about. When I discuss this with Bol, they always quickly come up with a solution. This works great. Then I can worry about other things again.
With Bol potting soil I really have a great partner for my potted plants. They think along with me so well that I still don’t need to know anything about soil.
