Innovation Award
The Innovation Award is a regular feature of HortiContact and rewards innovative products and concepts that help the sector move forward.
During HortiContact, visitors determine the winners by voting for their favourite. This can be done prior to the exhibition via this website and during the exhibition in the Innovation Zone.

How can you participate in the Innovation Award?
Follow the steps below to submit your innovation:
Register by emailing: Iris.Lunenborg@easyfairs.com – Indicate in the email which innovation you would like to register. The deadline for this is 9 January.
Registration in MyEasyfairs – Register your entry in MyEasyfairs, ensuring that your project is entered as both a product and an innovation.
Assessment & confirmation of participation – Once your registration in MyEasyfairs is complete and you have an EasyGo Plus package, your submission can be assessed and your participation will be officially confirmed.

Why participate?
Pre exhibition
You will receive a personalised banner that you can use to gather votes.
Mention in the official trade fair magazine.
Publicity in our large-scale media campaign in the run-up to the trade fair, including national trade media.
During exhibition
Your innovation will be displayed to the entire sector in the innovation zone.
Visitors can vote for your innovation by scanning the Smart Badge reader. This is linked to your innovation, so you will receive all these votes (and therefore leads) after the fair.
After exhibition
- You will receive a list of valuable votes, and therefore leads, to follow up on.
- You will gain permanent visibility on our website.
- And via our social media channels.
For the winner
- You will enjoy the honour for a whole year.
- A professional video worth Є1000 will be recorded at an end user of your innovation.
- This video will be shared via our channels and in national trade media in the run-up to the next edition.
- Your innovation will be given a prominent place at the next edition of the trade fair.
Past winners and finalists
OpusWatch won first prize in the Innovation Award at HortiContact 2025. With a single press of a button, the smartwatch application automatically records all activities. This means less administration, a better overview and optimal insight into work registration.
Source.ag won the HortiContact Innovation Award in 2024 with Source Control, a system that implements irrigation strategies completely autonomously. Growers specify the desired outcomes, after which the system automatically ensures optimal control of the irrigation process.
Second place in 2024 went to Houweling Horticulture with the Backie Slug Trap, an effective and environmentally friendly solution for combating slugs in greenhouses in a smart way.
Winner 2025
OPUSWatch won the HortiContact Innovation Award 2025 with a smart application for labour registration via a smartwatch. At the touch of a button, work activities are automatically registered, resulting in less administration and more insight. The data is available in real time, enabling more efficient planning and management on the work floor. A user-friendly and future-oriented solution for labour management in the horticultural sector.
Second place went to KUBO with their CO2-negative greenhouse, which filters CO2 from the air and improves crop growth. Artechno Growsystems finished in third place thanks to their innovative cultivation system for young plants, which increases production and reduces disease risks.
