Water silo
Genap’s water silo systems have earned a worldwide reputation for their excellence and affordability in storing vast amounts of water. Designed to be modular, they offer storage capacities that range from 5 to 2,000 cubic metres and boast the significant advantage of requiring only manpower for assembly. This means there’s no need for construction cranes or heavy machinery. To enhance the system, we provide custom-fit silo linings and covers. Not only are these silos simpler to set up compared to traditional water reservoirs, but they also serve efficiently for in-greenhouse use, managing the day’s water supply with ease. The corrugated panels that make up the silo come in lengths of 2.24 and 3.05 metres. These panels are galvanized as standard. Optionally, an extra coating can be applied to both sides of the panels, which extends both the lifespan and the warranty period of the silo. The available liner materials are suitable for all types of water, including wastewater, recirculated water, and drinking water.

Water reservoir
For manageable storage of vast volumes of water, an excavated and embanked reservoir proves highly effective. The Genap water reservoir has been specifically crafted for the direct collection of rainwater through pump systems, greenhouse roofs, buffer pits, and gutters. Genap can create water reservoirs in practically any location and in any desired size and shape. Determining the desired shape involves precise measurements of the reservoir’s dimensions using satellite technology. The reservoirs are lined with a specialised material chosen to suit the local conditions. Linings for reservoirs up to 5,000 m² are entirely manufactured in our factory. Only for larger reservoirs, we weld the parts together on-site. Genap’s water reservoirs feature Aquatex® , an advanced plastic material specifically designed for water storage in the horticultural sector. This material comes in various types and thicknesses, making it suitable for both rainwater storage and retaining recirculating water. The embankments come standard with Genatex® slope protection, shielding them from UV radiation and external mechanical impacts. Additionally, it keeps the embankments maintenance-free on the inside and prevents damage from flapping. The geomembrane and slope protection are anchored together at the crest or base of the outer embankment.

GenaFlexstore®
Genap’s GenaFlexstore® represents a revolutionary advancement in water storage technology, combining liner and cover in a patented, seamless solution. This cutting-edge system virtually negates any external impact on water quality, ensuring the integrity of the stored water is maintained at its highest level. With its integrated design, the system dramatically reduces water loss through evaporation, optimising the use of the silo’s full capacity. Unlike traditional systems, issues such as algae growth, wave action, evaporation, and wind-borne debris are things of the past with the GenaFlexstore®. It excels in its suitability for use in areas prone to rain and storms. The meticulously designed drainage system ensures that rainwater and debris accumulating on the cover are neatly channeled away through a wall drain. Moreover, the design of the GenaFlexstore® ensures that the cover does not extend beyond the edge of the silo. This significantly reduces the system’s susceptibility to wind in contrast to other cover systems which can be adversely affected by strong wind conditions. The GenaFlexstore® is crafted from a flexible and highly UV-resistant reinforced PVC membrane for both the walls and cover. The base lining is made from a geomembrane that is tailored to the application. The GenaFlexstore® is versatile, suitable for storing all types of liquids, including chlorinated water, potable water and liquid fertiliser.

Tensioned anti-algae cover for water silos
When water is stored in an uncovered silo, algae growth and other forms of contamination typically run rampant. The likelihood of irrigation systems becoming blocked as a result is high, leading to all sorts of undesirable consequences. An anti-algae tensioned cover prevents contamination and keeps the water permanently clean. In addition, the storage capacity of the water silo is maximized because the cover reduces wave action and evaporation. Genap’s tensioned covers are available for both indoor and outdoor setups of water silos. They are manufactured using Genatex® 700, a specially designed open weave fabric that is permeable to water while effectively keeping out dirt and light. The tension covers are made with an overlap and a reinforced hem with eyelets, making them easy and secure to stretch over the silo. Access to the silo is possible through a manhole, which can be optionally installed. Genap’s tensioned covers are suitable for use in silos of various diameters, for both indoor and outdoor applications. For indoor use, the tensioned cover is available for virtually any diameter, while for outdoor use, the cover is warranted for silos up to a diameter of 7 meters.

Silo drijfkleden
The Genap Airfloat is a smart and cost-effective solution for reducing evaporation, limiting algae growth, and regulating water temperature in a storage silo. This cover is made from durable double-layer polyethylene and floats directly on the water surface. Thanks to the integrated edge that hangs into the water, the cover stays securely in place – even in strong winds. The light grey top layer effectively reflects sunlight, helping to stabilise water temperature and minimise heat build-up. The black underside blocks out light, preventing photosynthesis and reducing algae growth. Small perforations in the cover allow rainwater to pass through, so it doesn’t pool on the surface and can be easily collected. Unlike other systems, the Airfloat requires no heavy components or complex installation. Simply place the cover on the water – it’s as easy as that. The Genap Airfloat is available in all sizes and custom-made to fit any silo. A practical and reliable way to improve water quality and reduce water loss.

Anchoring for floating solar panels
Growers worldwide face the challenge of finding creative solutions for efficient energy generation in limited available space. Genap, in collaboration with ZonopWaterbassin, developed an innovative concept of floating solar panels that can be installed on water reservoirs (based on our semi-enclosed Genafloat® system) thanks to an integrated anchoring system. This ensures that the solar island is stable and securely attached while also covering the water. Benefits - Dual utilisation of the surface area: water storage and electricity generation. - Solid, integrated Genap anchoring system - A new embankment liner as part of the anchoring system - Separate anti-algae cover no longer needed - The entire system eliminates water evaporation and algae formation - Also suitable for installation in a full water reservoir - Maximum yield thanks to the high-efficiency solar panels

Silofloat®
The SiloFloat® is a straightforward yet ingenious cover designed to combat algae in water silos effectively. This special anti-algae cover almost entirely seals off the water surface. The SiloFloat® merges innovation with ease of use. Supplied as a complete set, it can be quickly and easily installed in both existing (filled) and new (empty) water silos with limited manpower – even without the need for specific tools or electricity. This makes the SiloFloat® ideal for export. With the SiloFloat®, algae growth and other contaminants are almost entirely eliminated. This maintains the quality of the water, thereby avoiding blockages in irrigation systems. Additionally, the storage capacity of the silo can be fully utilised as the SiloFloat® counteracts wave action and evaporation.

GenaDome
The GenaDome PRO is a resilient, fully enclosed silo cover that effectively protects the water inside a silo from contamination, algae growth, and evaporation – all year round, in any climate. With this latest generation, Genap introduces a completely redesigned concept. The key difference compared to other systems on the market lies in its construction: the GenaDome PRO is entirely free-standing and selfsupporting. The frame stands on its own support points around the silo and does not rest on the silo rim. The wind and snow loads no longer put additional weight on the silo rim but are supported by the self-supporting design. The new structure now complies with a snow load of 56 kg/m² (applicable to roofs with a slope of up to 30°). The structure has been statically calculated and engineered for long-term use in all weather conditions. The galvanized steel frame is covered with a reinforced Genatex 450 membrane that resists UV radiation and temperature fluctuations. An integrated manhole ensures continued access to the silo. And if the silo lining needs to be replaced? It can be done without removing the dome.

Genafloat®
The Genafloat® from Genap is an innovative, floating cover for water reservoirs. Our Genafloat® is specifically designed to combine durability with effective protection against algae growth, evaporation, and wave action. This water covering system maximises the storage capacity of the water reservoir while maintaining water quality. The semi-enclosed Genafloat® is made from a double-sided coated, open-weave fabric and conforms to the shape of the bottom of the reservoir. The Genafloat® is available in both open and semi-closed versions. For new construction projects, the semi-closed system is often preferred; this system offers extra protection against leaf debris by attaching to the slope.

Tensioned cover for water reservoirs
In addition to the open or semi-enclosed Genafloat, Genap also offers a tensioned cover for narrow water reservoirs, perfect up to 23 metres in width. This unique cover fully encloses the reservoir and is made from a water-permeable, anti-algae, and dirt-repellent material. The tension cover remains securely in place thanks to support and tension straps, anchored by hardwood poles in the embankment.* The tensioned cover is made from black HDPE open woven fabric, known as Genatex® 700, a high-quality open woven fabric that lets through water but stops dirt and light. The tensioned cover is attached to the sides using straps and a reinforced edge all around the cover. The cover is attached to poles on the outer banks of the water reservoir using ratchet straps. The cover is fully tensioned over the lagoon, resulting in complete coverage. To prevent the cover from sagging, it rests on support straps that are stretched across the reservoir. The cover is tensioned using a guide strap with ratchet buckles, attached to an anchoring pole* at the outer banks of the reservoir.
Fully closed water reservoir
With a closed water storage system, external influences on water quality are minimised. In addition to the GenaFlexstore® for water silos, Genap also offers a fully closed water reservoir. In countries with more extreme temperatures, a fully closed water storage system is often preferred for storing irrigation water. This minimises external influences on water quality, providing an optimal solution against algae growth or contamination from blowing sand or other debris. Rainwater landing on the floating cover does not make contact with the stored water, while floaters and ventilation openings in the cover facilitate necessary air circulation. Genap has a proven track record in supplying and installing fully closed reservoirs, especially for irrigation and drinking water purposes in equatorial countries. The choice of the right material depends on the geographic location, the composition of the water, and its intended use. A fully closed water reservoir is comprised of a combination of a liner and a floating cover, both of which are anchored at the crest of the reservoir. As standard, the floating cover is made of a reinforced membrane, equipped with additional buoyancy and ventilation units to allow any trapped air/gas to escape. The type of material best suited for use depends on the location and application of the water. In locations with higher temperatures, we generally recommend a reinforced type of geomembrane with high UV resistance.

Insulated water silo
The insulated silo with GenaDome PRO is a fully thermally protected storage solution designed for growers who want to optimise water quality, reduce energy use, and future-proof their water and energy systems. This combination of full insulation and a freestanding dome offers reliable performance in a wide range of climates. The silo is insulated on the sidewalls, bottom, and top, thanks to a floating insulated cover. This triple-layer thermal barrier minimises heat loss and evaporation while ensuring stable water temperatures all year round. The system can also serve as a thermal buffer in sustainable energy setups, supporting solutions such as CHP units or renewable sources. Thanks to its smart, modular design, the insulated silo is suitable for new builds and retrofits, and performs reliably in a wide range of climates, from cold northern winters to hot and dry regions. What sets this system apart is the GenaDome PRO: a robust, self-supporting dome cover designed to withstand high wind and snow loads. It features a strong frame with a central support column and a reinforced membrane that protects the stored water from light, dirt, and weather. In combination with the insulated silo, the result is cleaner water, greater temperature stability, and a longer system lifespan. This innovative water storage solution has been scientifically validated by Wageningen University & Research, confirming its ability to stabilise water temperature, save energy, and improve water quality, helping growers future-proof their operations and optimise water use in any environment.
