Ushio introduces the world’s most efficient 1000 W HPS lamp at 2200 µmol/s
Every µmol counts in a situation of dramatically rising energy costs
With the introduction of another new lamp development, the HORTURION® HPS HPS SUPREMA, Ushio is making a small contribution to using energy as efficiently as possible and with the highest possible output.
The new HORTURION® HPS 1000 W SUPREMA delivers 2200 µmol/s output, making it the most efficient 1000 W HPS lamp ever launched.
In a situation of dramatically rising energy prices, this development is all the more significant as this lamp enables growers to achieve significantly higher yields and thus more revenues with the same energy consumption.
“The European economy has already been struggling with enormously increased energy prices for months. Especially the Dutch greenhouse cultivation under glass with its high energy demand is massively affected by the cost increases in the energy sector. And the concerns of the farms are exacerbated by Russia’s current activities,” says René Polak, director of horticulture at Ushio.
Greenhouse lighting, without which a modern horticultural operation is unthinkable, accounts for the largest share of energy costs in the greenhouse sector. The costs here can only be controlled through reduced operating hours and thus lower yields, or through even more efficient energy use. “We are pleased to be able to launch the HORTURION® HPS 1000 W SUPREMA with an unprecedented efficiency of 2200 µmol/s at this time. And we hope that we can support our customers at least a little bit with it,” René adds.
Meet Ushio at HortiContat 2022 from May 10 – 12. We will be happy to welcome you at our booth #D131 to discuss challenges and solution within the horticulture sector. Face to face. We look forward to finally meeting you in person again.
