On Wednesday, February 25th (16:00 PM to 18:00 PM), the Federation of Fruit and Vegetable Organizations (FVO) is organizing the symposium: ASML, take note! The High-tech Horticulture Cluster is coming. The symposium will take place during HortiContact in Gorinchem, where Diederik Samsom and Mathijs Bouman, among others, will share their vision on the future and position of the Dutch greenhouse horticulture. Registration is open; registration is required, and space is limited.<\/p>\n

Horticulture as an indispensable high-tech top sector<\/strong>
ASML is a given in the Netherlands; a company everyone known, appreciates, and respects. Greenhouse horticulture shares this potential: a high-tech sector that is indispensable in the Netherlands. ”With this event, we as a sector want to demonstrate how we add value while simultaneously making a significant contribution to food security, sustainability, technological innovation, and society. This makes greenhouse horticulture an indispensable high-tech top sector in the Netherlands,” says Jelte van Kammen (FVO board member).<\/p>\n

From practice to perspective\u00a0<\/strong>
During the symposium, FVO will highlight what is already happening within the sector and where steps still need to be taken to strengthen our position. With an optimistic and forward-looking perspective, Jelte van Kammen will reinforce the sector’s value to the Netherlands. Korneel van der Plas (Albert Heijn) will then guide the audience through how the sector can continue to be valuable from both a retail and a consumer perspective. This will form the basis for a broader dialogue from an economic and social perspective. Diederik Samsom and Mathijs Bouman will then hold up a mirror to the sector: is there still room for greenhouse horticulture in the Netherlands, and how do they view the sector’s added value? And what are their thought on the steps the sector is currently taking?<\/p>\n

Horticulture Arena<\/strong>
The second part of the programme focuses on interaction. In the Horticulture Arena, led by Inge Diepmam, the discussion returns to the core. Experts such as Laurens Sloot (University of Groningen), Korneel van der Plas (Albert Heijn), Adri Bom-Lemstra (Glastuinbouw Nederland), and Inge Bergsma-De Vries (Drenthe Growers) will discuss the next steps needed to strengthen the sector’s position.<\/p>\n

The symposium is aimed at entrepreneurs, supply chain partners, policymakers, and other stakeholders who want to contribute their thoughts on the future of the Dutch greenhouse horticulture. Registration is now open.<\/p>\n
